The biggest issue we have in correcting Osgood’s schlatters is the attitude we have towards it. The medical world pass this issue off as a growing problem and while I agree there is elements of growing contributing. I don’t believe it’s the most important factor.
What is more important is muscle function and mechanics around the knee. Our program focuses on correcting imbalances around the knee that are causing friction and compensation at the patellar tendon – this is then pulling on the bone at the shin.
This is the root cause. We have developed an 8 step rehab plan to correct these imbalances and have also built in a consolidation and bulletproof phase to make sure it doesn’t come back.
